UCSF taps Maga Jackson-Triche to lead expansion of clinical mental health services

Following a nationwide search, the UCSF Department of Psychiatry and UCSF Health are pleased to announce the appointment of Maga E. Jackson-Triche, MD, MSHS, as the inaugural Department of Psychiatry Vice Chair for UCSF Health and Vice President for Adult Behavioral Health Services, UCSF Health, effective June 1, 2016.

Study: Trajectory of depressive symptoms more accurate at identifying dementia risk than individual assessments

In a new study published online by JAMA Psychiatry, a research team led by UCSF Psychiatry faculty members has found that patients with high-and-increasing depressive trajectories were almost twice as likely to develop dementia than those with minimal symptoms, even when accounting for other important factors.

The San Francisco VA Medical Center (SFVAMC) has expanded its offering of mental health care services with the addition of a same-day clinic. The new clinic is an important part of SFVAMC's continuing efforts to reduce barriers for veterans seeking non-emergency, outpatient mental health care.
