The Psychiatry Residency Program at UCSF Fresno is a fully accredited and integral part of the University of California, San Francisco Department of Psychiatry, offering strong clinical training in a community-based setting.
The program is intentionally small, providing for personal attention to each resident as an individual. Based at Community Regional Medical Center, VA Central California Health Care System, Community Behavioral Health Center, Fresno County Department of Behavioral Health, Kaiser Permanente and University Psychiatry Associates, the UCSF Fresno program offers outstanding breadth and variety in its patient population, training venues, and didactic courses.
The program is geared for those future psychiatrists who are interested in a true integration of the biological, psychological, and social dimensions of the patient. We emphasize excellence in clinical work, as well as the development of critical thinking and the ability to absorb and create new knowledge and skills.
