In honor of UCSF's 150th Anniversary, the Alumni Association of UCSF (AAUCSF) is highlighting the extraordinary contributions of 150 outstanding living degreed and non-degreed alumni. The UCSF 150th Anniversary Alumni Excellence Awards were granted for distinction in research, clinical care, education, business, and/or public service to reflect the excellence of UCSF's entire alumni community.

The Department of Psychiatry was well represented by Professor Emeritus in Psychology Paul Ekman, PhD; Professor of Neurology, Physiology and Psychiatry Adam Gazzaley, MD, PhD; and Clinical Professor of Psychiatry Marilyn Reed Lucia, MD. The three were chosen out of approximately 900 anonymous nominations on the basis of excellence and distinction in the major components of UCSF’s mission. All 150 winners will receive a physical prize, and their names will be commemorated on a permanent plaque installed at the UCSF Faculty–Alumni House. A celebratory event will take place during the annual UCSF Alumni Weekend in May.
