The Affective Science Predoctoral Program (based at UC Berkeley) involves four predoctoral trainees selected each year from graduate programs at four Bay Area universities (UC Berkeley, UC Davis, UCSF, and Stanford University).
Requirements
To be eligible, applicants must be predoctoral trainees at a graduate program at UCSF, UC Berkeley, UC Davis, or Stanford University. Applicants’ research interests should include the study of affect (e.g., emotion, motivation, mood disorders) in humans or animals.
How to apply
For application information, contact Wendy Berry Mendes, PhD.
Applications are due by April 1 of each year.
Curriculum
Trainees participate in a yearlong seminar on affective science in which they interact with the 15 core faculty of the program and partake in two methods workshops each year. In the course of the year, trainees will present their dissertation proposals and meet with a committee of faculty on their research progress.
