Specialist - Von Zastrow Lab

The Department of Psychiatry is now recruiting for a Full Specialist. The area of specialization will include:

  • Basic laboratory research in cell biology of G protein-coupled receptors, behavioral neuroscience, experimental mouse genetics and behavioral analysis of genetic mouse models
  • Histological methods and confocal microscopy procedures

Required qualifications

  • PhD in biochemistry or cell biology or equivalent
  • Background in cellular neuroscience and behavioral science
  • Expertise in GPCR signaling, molecular and cell biology
  • Postdoctoral experience in experimental mouse genetics and behavioral analysis of mouse models
  • Track record in successful grant writing and manuscript preparation for publishing in scientific journals

Preferred qualifications

  • Postgraduate training in field
  • Independent specialized research
  • Management experience in coordinating mouse genetic studies and colony management
  • Experience in managing laboratory-based histology and molecular biology supplies and activities
