The Survivors Clinic is directed by Mardi Horowitz, MD, who developed the diagnosis of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), pioneered effective psychotherapies, and led groundbreaking research on grief. Research findings are implemented in this clinic and include integrative approaches to post-stressor growth, personal resiliency, and increased self-esteem.
The clinic is staffed by tenured and clinical faculty, senior Department of Psychiatry resident physicians, and affiliated psychology trainees. A central function is assessment and advice to those who seek consultations. Written clinical reports can be released to health care professionals with the consent of the client.
