Reporting to Department of Psychiatry chair Matthew W. State, MD, PhD, as well as UCSF Medical Center president and UCSF Health senior vice president Sheila Antrum, RN, MSHA, Jackson-Triche will play a crucial role in the integration of clinical mental health services across UCSF’s campuses and lead a significant expansion of psychiatric and behavioral services across the UCSF Health system. In addition, she will oversee overall quality, effectiveness, efficiency, and financial performance for clinical affairs within the Department of Psychiatry.
Jackson-Triche brings an impressive track record of clinical and administrative success within the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) network and its affiliated academic institutions to her new role at UCSF. A graduate of the University of Chicago’s Pritzker School of Medicine and the UCLA School of Public Health, Jackson-Triche has served in key leadership roles within VHA including VA Greater Los Angeles, VA Southeast Louisiana, and VA Northern California Health Care Systems, and in 2012, was asked to serve a term as the Acting Deputy Chief Mental Health Consultant for the VA’s Office of Mental Health Services in Washington, DC.
In 2013, Jackson-Triche was named Chief Mental Health Officer for the VA Sierra Pacific Network. In this position, she has overseen the mental health care services of a network responsible for a population of more than 1 million veterans in Northern California, Nevada, Hawaii, Guam, American Samoa, and the Philippines.
In addition to her extensive clinical and administrative work, Jackson-Triche has held academic appointments with the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine, Tulane University School of Medicine, and UC Davis School of Medicine. An experienced researcher with numerous academic studies, articles, books, and book chapters to her credit, she has also served as a reviewer for the Journal of General Internal Medicine, Journal of Clinical Outcomes Management, and Medical Care.
Jackson-Triche is a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association (APA) and a member of the American College of Psychiatrists. She served on the APA’s National Clinical Guidelines Committee Work Group on Psychiatric Evaluation of Adults.
