ArmstrongKeith Armstrong, LCSW, was recently featured in U.S. Medicine for his leadership and development of the SFVAMC’s unique program supporting veteran students at City College of San Francisco (CCSF). The Veterans Outreach Program at CCSF, which offers veterans on-campus access to medication management, individual and couples therapy, social work services, and a supportive network of peers, was recognized in 2013 with an American Psychiatric Association Psychiatric Services Achievement Silver Award.

“I really believe in the college model and will help to spread that in the Bay Area personally as well as doing all I can to help other places get their programs up and running across the country,” said Armstrong. “Leadership in Washington, DC, is very supportive of what we do — and we’ve shown with data that it is effective.”
