Chu tapped for UCSF Chancellor Award for Exceptional University Service

ChuAdministrative assistant Pamela Chu has been chosen as a recipient of the 2014 UCSF Chancellor Award for Exceptional University Service. This prestigious campus award recognizes exceptional service by non-academic staff members who devote their time and energy to support and serve the campus community and mission. She will receive the award during UCSF Founders Day activities later this month.

Chu has served in the Office of the Chair for more than a decade and has spearheaded UCSF's involvement in the annual International Survivors of Suicide Day since 2004. In her nomination letters, faculty and staff noted that she has “touched the lives of literally hundreds of people” through her organization of the annual event, and that she “brings people to UCSF who have never thought to enter, with their stories that help start healing in a very compassionate and inclusive atmosphere.”
