Tuesday, December 10, 2013

Nancy Adler, PhD, has been appointed by the presidents of the National Academy of Science (NAS), National Academy of Engineering (NAE) and the Institute of Medicine (IOM) as a member of the Keck Futures Initiative (NAKFI) Steering Committee on Collective Behavior.  NAKFI is a collaboration between the NAS, NAE and IOM, with support from the W.M. Keck Foundation, to stimulate new modes of scientific inquiry and create opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration.  The centerpiece of NAKFI is an annual conference with a seed grant component that the committee will plan for 2014.

Adler has been elected to serve a second three-year term (through December 2016) on the Institute of Medicine Council.  The council serves as the governing body for the IOM and its 20 members are elected by the institute’s membership.
