Hoeft, Yaffe featured at international conferences

Two UCSF Psychiatry faculty members were recently featured speakers at major international conferences.
In November, Fumiko Hoeft, MD, PhD, delivered a keynote address entitled “Dissecting the Brain Basis of Dyslexia through Discrepancy” at the Third Annual Meeting and International Symposium of the ESF-Coordination Centre in Munich. Sponsored by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research, the symposium is designed to highlight outstanding research and foster cooperation on empirical educational research.
In December, Kristine Yaffe, MD, was a featured panelist in a discussion on improving the treatment and quality of life of people affected by dementia at the G8 Dementia Summit in London. Attended by government officials and researchers from around the globe, other speakers at the summit included UK Prime Minister David Cameron and World Health Organization Director General Margaret Chan, MD, MSc.
