The UCSF Alliance Health Project’s 17th annual Art for AIDS auction drew over 800 art patrons and supporters to raise a record $275,000 on Friday, October 25th at the City View at Metreon. Spirited auction participants snapped up more than 150 works of modern and contemporary art during an evening of competitive bidding at both live and silent auctions.
Art for AIDS benefits UCSF’s Alliance Health Project (AHP), serving the community for 29 years with free HIV counseling and testing, substance use and mental health services. Since 1984, AHP has counseled more than a half a million people and trained more than 100,000 health professionals, educators, and students. All funds raised at Art for AIDS support the mental health and wellness of the LGBTQ and HIV-affected communities.
