State invested as Oberndorf Family Distinguished Professor

During a formal investiture ceremony on September 11, Department of Psychiatry Chair Matthew W. State, MD, PhD, was installed as the inaugural holder of the Oberndorf Family Distinguished Professorship in Psychiatry. Generously endowed by UCSF Foundation chairman and SPO Advisory Corp. founding partner William E. Oberndorf and his family, the Professorship provides support for the incumbent Chair of Psychiatry in perpetuity.
