Presentation: Sociocultural Research Strategies to Address Mental Health Disparities

Jin Kim is a postdoctoral scholar applicant to the UCSF NIDA T32 Postdoctoral Training Program in Drug Abuse Treatment/Services Research.  She is  is a doctoral candidate in Social Psychology at the University of California, Davis. Her research interests are in understanding and addressing health and mental health disparities among underserved populations. Particularly, her research has drawn from social psychological theories to examine help-seeking behaviors, treatment utilization, and outcomes among Asian Americans. Her research has also examined tobacco use and smoking cessation counseling for Asian Americans with mental illness, and she plans to build on this line of work for her future research.
