Presentation: Convergent Approaches to Understanding Fear and Fear-Related Disorders: From Pavlov to PTSD

Learning Objectives:

  • To gain an appreciation for the molecular - genetic pathways underlying the fear response and how these may serve as biomarkers for PTSD.
  • To learn about new findings associating genetic risk factors with brain regions associated with PTSD risk.
  • To obtain a greater working knowledge for how biomarkers and intermediate phenotypes together aid in our understanding of brain mechanisms of PTSD and anxiety disorders.
