Interviews
Interviews will not be scheduled until all requested documents have been received. It is the responsibility of each applicant to ensure that their application is complete. All complete applications will be screened, and approximately 70 candidates will be invited to interview for 16 PGY-1 positions. We interview applicants on Fridays, beginning at 8:00 AM. If invited to interview, applicants are invited to first have dinner with a group of current residents on Thursday evenings at 6:00 PM. In addition to interviewing on Friday mornings, applicants will visit all three of the program’s main training sites over the course of the day, will have ample opportunity to meet with current residents (including over lunch) and then will close the day by meeting as a group with the Chair of the Department and Residency Training Director. The day will end at around 4:30 PM.
The goals of the interview day are:
• for you to meet 1:1 with several faculty and residents,
• for you to get answers to any questions you may have about the program,
• for us to get to know you as well
In addition, at your interview, you will be given written materials about the program and about UCSF, and you will have an opportunity to review a sample contract (pdf).
So that we may schedule a time that is convenient for you, please select at least two Fridays on the Applicant's Choice of Interview Dates form (part of the supplemental application), one in the October 23 to December 11, 2009 time period and one in the January 8 to February 5, 2010 time period.
Deadline
The application deadline for Match 2010 is November 1, 2009.
