Attending Psychiatrist (Consultation-Liaison Service at LPPH&C)

The Department of Psychiatry at UCSF seeks a full-time psychiatrist for its Psychiatry Consultation-Liaison (C-L) Service at Langley Porter Psychiatric Institute. This is a busy clinical and teaching service providing psychiatric consultation to the UCSF Medical Center inpatient medical/surgical services, Emergency Department, and select outpatient clinics. The position will be filled in the Health Sciences Clinical series at an academic rank commensurate with experience, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2014.

Responsibilities:
The successful applicant will have a daily role in the education of trainees, including medical students, psychiatry residents, neurology residents, and psychology fellows, as well as providing direct clinical care. The C-L service participates in the UCSF Department of Psychiatry Fellowship in Psychosomatic Medicine. Additionally, there are opportunities for faculty to develop expertise and liaison relationships in specific areas of Psychosomatic Medicine (e.g. HIV, cancer, organ transplant) and/or Medical Education.

Qualifications:
Applicants should be Board certified or eligible in psychiatry, experienced in C-L settings, and interested in teaching and education. A commitment to providing care to diverse and medically underserved populations is required.
