Depression – Community Academic Reach of Elders with Depression (CARE-D) (CHR# 10-00221)

Do you have a patient over 60 years of age who is depressed (MDD)? Your patient may be eligible for a research study evaluating Problem Solving Therapy for low-income, physically disabled, depressed older adults. Eligible participants will receive 12 weeks of in-home treatment in the form of Case Management or PST combined with Case Management, allowing us to compare and determine an effective treatment for this population. In addition, participants will be asked to answer questions about their mood, health, and quality of life in a series of research interviews throughout the 12-week program. All study procedures take place in the participant’s home. Participants will be compensated $20 for each research interview (at baseline and weeks 3, 6, 9, 12, & 24) for a total of $120. If you have a patient you think is eligible, please contact Matt Brandner at
