SFVAMC Co-Director of the Schizophrenia Research Program (A)

The Department of Psychiatry at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) invites applications for a Co-Director of the Schizophrenia ResearchProgram at San Francisco Veterans Affairs Medical Center. This Full Professor position could begin on September 1, 2009 or thereafter.

 

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in neuroscience or a related field, established skills in research on mental illnesses that are central to the VA mission, utilizing electrophysiological methods to bridge the gap between the brain and behavior in schizophrenia; an established record of collaboration with basic and clinical neuroscientists in NIH, VA and other federally funded translational research on schizophrenia; demonstrated teaching ability; demonstrated interest, commitment, and cultural competence in working with underserved and culturally diverse patient populations.

Responsibilities include the development of a successful independent program in translational neurophysiology research on schizophrenia; participation in teaching, supervision or support of educational programs for medical students, residents, psychology interns, postdoctoral fellows, and graduate students in a variety of disciplines.
